You may choose to have the Guild copy another standalone WordPress blog from some URL as your initial install. When you request a GBP blog, you will need to have ftp access to that site and be able to give us the FTP details including password so that we can do a copy of you existing site into the Guild domain.

Once we handover your blog to you, you will have a few additional steps to perform before you can take your blog live.

  1. You must update your WordPress software to the current version as the program requires that all software be kept up to date. This includes, WordPress, Plugins, and Themes.
  2. You must review all of your plugins and themes to assure they are reasonably current and are being maintained and do not require a fee to remain operational. We need to know that when and if your blog goes to legacy status that it will not break. We will likely identify other requirements as program continues as a primary requirement is that blogs require little to no maintenance after going into legacy status.
  3. You need to display the Guild Logo and identify yourself on the blog. (See https://standard.one-name.blog for example of how to do this.)
  4. You will need to review all of your embedded links in your posts, pages, and menus as they likely did not transfer correctly.

When you are satisfied that your blog is working correctly, contact the GBP Team to have your blog activated.
